The objective of this guide corresponds to the obligations derived from the international framework of women’s human rights and gender equality, particularly enshrined in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
This guide aims to take steps to incorporate the gender perspective into the Logical Framework Methodology applicable to different areas, including public budget planning.
Public budgets with a gender perspective are a fundamental instrument of public policy to advance towards substantive equality between women and men. They are also an indicator of government commitment to women’s rights and gender equality, in the three levels of government: federal, state and municipal; and they are one of the most effective strategies to accelerate the pace and move towards more egalitarian societies with higher levels of well-being.
